Matar Kachori with Mustard Oil

Ingredients:

For dough;

1 cup of all purpose flour

2 tablespoons Organic Nation mustard oil

Water as required

¼ teaspoon baking powder

Organic Nation Himalayan Pink Rock Salt to taste

For stuffing:

1 cup green peas

¼ teaspoon red chilli powder

¼ teaspoon turmeric powder

½ teaspoon coriander powder

½ teaspoon fennel powder

Chaat masala to taste

½ teaspoon green chilli ginger paste

¼ teaspoon cumin seeds

2 teaspoon Organic Nation’s mustard oil

1 tablespoon besan

¼ teaspoon Organic Nation’s black salt

Salt to taste

 

Organic Nation’s Mustard Oil to fry (gives beautiful aroma and it healthy as compared to other oils)

 

Recipe:-

        In a bowl add the dry ingredients and sieve it, then add water to make a soft dough then let it rest.

        For the filling in a pan add Organic Nation’s mustard oil (for rusty flavour) , heat it to smoking point then add cumin seeds when it splutters, add the ginger garlic paste, fry on low heat.

        Add the coarsely crushed peas, besan, dry spices, black salt, and salt. Stir and mix well.

        Make small balls from dough, roll it and add stuffing in the middle. Then bring the edges together and make a smooth ball.

        Now roll the stuffed balls, and cover it with wet cloth.

        Heat oil in a pan, when it reaches smoking point, sim the oil and fry the kachoris in low to medium heat.

        Serve it with tangy tamarind chutney and tea.
